New Zealand has bestowed a knighthood on their most famous film-maker! "Lord of the Rings" director Peter Jackson, 53 was knighted in his native New Zealand. The award which has been reinstated for the first time in a decade was approved by the queen, the country's head of state.
Peter Jackson director of the Academy Award winning "Lord of the Rings" trilogy and many other popular films described the honor as an "incredible moment."   Jackson said in a written statement, "I didn't think anything would surpass the 2004 Academy Awards, but I was wrong," he said. "The feeling of gratitude and pride I have in accepting this honor from my home country is profound."

Dear Sir Peter,
Congratulations on you award, I find it fantastic when people are bestowed with this form of accolade when they deserve it, well done to you. Isn’t it annoying when footballers, for instance, are given this great honour for kicking a ball around. Normally when I see civilians given such a high honour I cringe thinking about what little they have done to receive the award, particularly when there are many soldiers defending our country, flag and freedom in difficult and sometimes extreme circumstances for very little reward. I have seen to many times, and experienced, coming home from war to nothing but a cold, wet, empty airfield.
You on the other hand, in my view, have worked hard and have been recognised for your efforts in a truly benevolent way. Well done to you :)

As for Linkzelda ... You pratt! this news feed was about his Knighthood ... here’s a thought ... how about you just congratulate him instead of plugging something YOU want you selfish git!!
